What does "water project" mean? What goes into a project besides construction?

A water project is more than just building a well, rain tank, sand dam, or protected spring. Each project involves:

• Preparing the community, which we call Community Mobilizing. 
• Education about hygiene and sanitation principles; without these, the new water source won’t do much good.
• Actual construction of the water technology, which we call hardware.
• Long-term monitoring and evaluation, to make sure the project lasts.
